MATCH STORY

Given their dominance over the last decade, it’s easy to forget that Spain was once considered one of the most underachieving national sides. Despite boasting two of the most influential clubs in world football, a widely respected league, and a long line of all-time greats, La Roja only had a single European title in their cabinet prior to 2010. But heavily influenced by the tiki-taka played by a core of Barcelona based players, the Spanish took the world by storm at the World Cup in South Africa. Winning their group, they bested a gauntlet of Portugal, Paraguay, and Germany on the way to the final, conceding just two goals along the way. Awaiting them were fellow underachievers Holland; a scrap ensued. A total of 14 yellows and one red were dished out — though Nigel de Jong made a strong case for a second red being shown. Extra time would be needed to crown a new world champion, and it came from the golden boot of AndrĂ©s Iniesta in the 116th-minute.

DESIGN STORY

The match side of the wristband takes influence from the all-navy kits worn by Spain in the 2010 final. The reverse is inspired by the iconic kits worn by La Furia Roja at the 1994 World Cup.
