Sonny’s Silverware

Match Date: May 21, 2025
Competition: 2024/25 UEFA Europa League Final
Location: San Mamés

Match Story:
On a perfect Basque night under the shining lights in Bilbao, two desperate sides would meet to be crowned Europe’s secondary champion. On one side: the disgraced giants of Manchester United, trying to once again restore their club to their former glories after yet another post-Sir Alex stutter. On the other: a Tottenham side that hadn’t lifted a trophy in 17 years. And born of that dueling desperation was a scrapfest of epic proportions. The two sides would manage 18 shots combined, of which Spurs managed a paltry one sixth of the total. But one of those three shots managed to be the match winner. Brendan Johnson’s 42nd-minute effort, coming from a Pape Matar Sarr square across the box, deflected off of Luke Shaw and into United’s goal. The London-based club would then somehow manage to hang on to that lead for the ensuing 56 minutes, in no small part to an amazing Mickey van de Ven goal line clearance. The win would be Spurs’ first European title in 30 years, and the perfect sendoff for club legend Son Heung-min’s final competitive match with the team.

Design Story:
The match side features a design inspired by the Lillywhites‘ 2025/26 kits, split by the long-awaited trophy they lifted in Bilbao. On the reverse is a design that takes its design cues from the club’s away strip during their title-winning season.
