Le Parisien

Match Date: May 8, 1996
Competition: UEFA Cup Winners Cup
Location: King Baudouin Stadium

Match Story:
Being a relative youngster in the European superpower set, Paris hasn’t always been the lavish side we see strutting around the Parc de Princes today. Having won the domestic double for the first time during the 1994/95 season, the Parisians qualified for the Cup Winners Cup the following campaign. Once there, the French champions picked up where the left off, steaming past Molde of Norway 6-2 on aggregate, Celtic of Scotland 4-0, Deportivo La Coruña of Spain 2-0, and Parma of Italy 3-2, to set up a final against Austria’s Rapid Wein. The title would be decided by a single goal, with defender Bruno N’Gotty grabbing the winner on 29 minutes.

Design Story:
The match side of the wristband features a design inspired by Paris’ most famous landmark, with the trusses of the Eiffel Tower denoting the match outline. On the reverse, the familiar Rouge et Bleu stripes long donned by side at the Parc de Princes.
