Celebrate Argentina’s long-awaited third world title by wearing the instant-classic match on your wrist!
By the time the 2022 World Cup kicked off, it had been 36 years since Argentina last hoisted the trophy. And with Lionel Messi nearing the end of his international career, Qatar seemed like their best chance to do it. Inspired by the play of their aging talisman, they managed to claw their way into the final. But standing in their way were defending champions France and their rising star Kyliann Mbappé. And boy, did both superstars deliver. Messi and Argentina powered to a 2-0 lead in the first half, only for Mbappé to log a brace of his own in the final ten minutes to force extra time. Each would score another goal there, too. But it was Messi’s Argentina that prevailed in the penalties thanks to a save from Golden Glove winner Emiliano Martínez.
The match side of the design is inspired by the traditional Albiceleste shirt worn during Argentina’s run to the cup, with goals marked by the “Sun of May” medalion found on the back of each jersey. The reverse pays homage to the firey-blue away kits worn during the tournament, adorned with their newly-acquired third star.
