Competition: MLS Regular Season
Location: Citypark
Match Story:
Despite a long and storied history as one of the most productive soccer markets in country, St. Louis long struggled to land a squad in the American top flight. But that wait came to an end in 2023, when the team’s long-awaited expansion side took the pitch for the first time. The wait was worth it. The city’s team jumped out to an incredible 5-0 start, the best-ever start for an expansion club. The second of those wins was their first at their sparkling new 22,500-seat stadium just outside of downtown St. Louis. Though the visitors from Charlotte jumped out to a first-half lead, the new kids on the block found themselves in the lead at the interval thanks to an own goal and penalty in the final five minutes of the half. They then sealed the victory with a second-half strike from their designated player Klauss.
Design Story:
The match side of the wristband is inspired by a unique upward perspective of St. Louis’s iconic Gateway Arch. On the reverse, the design takes its inspiration from the official city flag, itself inspired by the mighty Mississippi River alongside which the city sits.
