Match Date: May 17, 2018
Competition: Liguilla Clausura Final
Location: Estadio Coronoa

Match Story:
Relative newcomers on the Mexican soccer scene having been founded in just 1983, the club from Comarca Lagunera have quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. They’ve won six domestic titles since arriving in the top flight in 1988, the last of which came in 2018. A disastrous Aperatura saw them finish 14th in the table and miss the playoffs, but things massively improved in the Spring with a 4th place finish in the Clausura. In the playoffs, they snuck past Pumas in the quarterfinals due to seeding, hammered América in the semis, all to face first-seeded Toluca in the final. The pivotal match of the final came in the first leg, at Estadio Corona. Toluca pulled ahead 8 minutes after halftime, but the Guerreros roared back with a 71st-minute strike from Cape Verdean forward Djaniny and a winner from Argentine Julio Furch in the 89th.

Design Story:
The wristband’s match side takes its inspiration from the club’s beverage company owners, while the reverse shows some of the many variations of green and white stripes worn by the Guerreros over the years.
