Match Story:
Competing for their first ever MLS Cup, Miami found themselves hosting another team going for their first in Vancouver. And despite the host’s star-studded line-up, it was the Canadians that scored Miami’s first goal when they deflected an 8th-minute cross into their own goal. But despite the early setback, Vancouver dictated most of the flow of the match and deservedly equalized on the hour mark. But the visitor’s goal awakened Miami’s Argentine maestro. Messi assisted a 71st-minute strike by Rodrigo De Paul and set up Tadeo Allende in stoppage time to secure the Cup. The victory secured Messi’s 47th career trophy and served as a fairytale ending for the careers of legends Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
Design Story:
The wristband’s match side features a design-inspired by the scene of the final and Miami’s temporary home, Ft. Lauderdale’s Chase Stadium. On the reverse are the pink vertical stripes found on Miami’s home kit.
