The rivalry between soccer sides in the Pacific Northwest knows no gender barriers. But in women’s soccer, Seattle long played bridesmaid to their rivals from Portland. But the pride of Washington women’s soccer scene finally got the upper hand in 2014 on enemy turf. Playing in front over 14,000 raucous supporters, neither side was able to find a way through the other’s defense. But in the 89th minute, Kim Little quieted the home crowd with giving Seattle their first-ever win over the Thorns.

The match side of the wristband features the Puget Sound, depicted in the colors inherited from the French parent club. The reverse pays homage to the region’s characteristic rainfall, which also gave birth to the club’s name.
