Things couldn’t have started any better for the USMNT at the 2014 World Cup, with Clint Dempsey opening the scoring just 29 seconds into the opening fixture against Ghana. With matches against European powers Germany and Portugal still to come, holding that result would be vital for the American’s chances of progressing out of Group G. But after holding the lead for 81 minutes, Ghana’s André Ayew seemed to spoil the result with an equalizer. But just four minutes, the Yanks’ lead was restored with John Brooks thundering home a header — surprising himself and the world.
The match side of the wristband is inspired by famous red, white and blue-banded kits worn by the U.S. in Brazil in 2014. The reverse features a design featuring all 16 saves from Timmy’s performance in the knockout rounds against Belgium.
