Match Story:
Leeds celebrated a 16-year wait for their return to the English topflight in 2020 with a top-half finish. Their second campaign back in the Prem, however, didn’t see them fare as well as they narrowly avoided relegation. But the Whites got their 2022/23 campaign off to a great start with a three-match unbeaten run, culminating in an emphatic 3-0 win over long-time rivals Chelsea. And it was the club’s connections to the American game that made a huge difference in the match. Then manager Jesse Marsch started both Tyler Adams and Brendan Aaronsen, the latter of whom opened the scoring around 30 minutes in. And then former MLS-standout Jack Harrison added an insurance goal with about 20 minutes to play.
Design Story:
The match side of the wristband is inspired by the iconic, pristine white kits donned by Leeds for decades, with the city name scrawled out in a familiar diagonal script. The reverse takes its design cues from the side’s 2022/23 tie-dye away kits.
