Match Story:
Mexico’s pedigree in international soccer is unquestionable. They have a tradition of iconic clubs, players, venues and teams. And though historically they have been one of the best sides in their region, the last decade has been a rough one for El Trí. But the 2023 Gold Cup gave their fans a much-deserved reprieve. After topping their group, Mexico cruised past Costa Rica and Jamaica to reach the final at SoFi Stadium. And with Panama clearing their path by dumping out their American rivals in the other semifinal, things looked even better for them. But the Panamanians put up an incredible fight, pushing El Trí with dangerous chances and bouts of possession of their own. But the deadlock was finally broken in the 88th minute when Santi, who had only come on three minutes before, giving the Mexicans their ninth continental crown.
Design Story:
Both sides of the wristband take their inspirations from the recent use of grecas aztecas patterns found on recent Mexico jerseys. The match side is a green variant of the 2023 away kits, while the reverse side features a design inspired by the vibrant black and magenta kits.
