Match Story:
Having not won an international trophy since their world-dominating side won the Euros in 2012, Spain finally seemed to have a new identity in 2024 under Luis de la Fuente. Inspired by the dynamic young player of the tournament Yamine Lamal, Spain seemed tournament favorites from the get go. They topped the “Group of Death” that featured Italy, Croatia, and Albania, before dispatching of Georgia, Germany, and then France in the knockout rounds. Awaiting them in the final in Berlin: 2021 finalists England. A scoreless first half saw the English on the front foot, with the Three Lions pinning back Spain’s creative attack. But the deadlock was broken just two minutes into the second half, when Yamal spurng a movement that Nico Williams capped off with a fine finish. And though England would equalize through Palmer 20 minutes later, Mikel Oyarzabal restored the Spaniards’ lead four minutes from full time, giving La Furia Roja their record fourth European crown.
Design Story:
The wristband’s match side is inspired by the vibrant red and gold home kits worn by Spain during Germany 2024, which themselves were inspired by the Spanish national flower… the carnation. The reverse features the silhouettes of a quintet of the most visible Spaniards during the run to the trophy.
