Match Story:
Having the second most league titles and a policy of only playing domestic players has helped the Goats to become the most popular team in Mexico. But success on the international stage had long-proven elusive for Guadalajara, save a single North American crown in 1968. But after cruising past the Dominican Republic’s Cibao, Seattle, and the Red Bulls to reach the final of the 2018 edition of the Champions League, they seemed on the cusp of glory when they left took a 2-1 victory at Toronto in the final’s first leg. However, that was put in danger when the Reds came from behind to level the tie in Mexico and force penalties. Luckily, the Goats bagged all 4 of their takes from the spot and they clinched the title when Toronto captain Michael Bradley skied his side’s final chance.
Design Story:
The match side of the wristband sits atop an aerial view of the spaceship-esque of the club’s home ground, Estadio Akron. The reverse is adorned with the Goats’ famous six white and five red stripes.
