Miracle in Istanbul
You’ll never walk alone when sporting this wristband inspired by one of the greatest comebacks in European Cup final history.
When a heavily-favored Milan jumped out to a first-minute lead, the Reds’ hopes of a third European Cup seemed dashed but not broken. When they added another two before halftime, it seemed virtually impossible. But an incredible six-minute stretch in the second half saw the English side level. Nearly an hour later at Istanbul’s Atatürk Stadium, not another goal was scored and penalties would be needed to break the deadlock. But with the Milanese missing seeing two of their spot kicks saved and a third miss the frame entirely, the Merseyside club took care of business and defied the impossible to claim the cup.
The match is displayed overtop of a geometric girih pattern inspired by Istanbul’s famous Islamic architecture. The reverse is adorned by the acronym of the famous rallying cry sung by Scousers — native or adopted — the world over.
