Four-times world champions and three-times European champions, Germany have certainly made their mark on the beautiful game. Known for methodical play, precision, and devotion to the cause, the Germans have time and time again shown their might on the world’s stage. The mightiest of those performances? The 7-1 semfinal victory over hosts Brazil in the 2014 World Cup. Thomas Müller opened the scoring for Die Mannschaft in the 11th minute and they never looked back from there. A further four scorers would tally before it was all said and done — Kroos twice, Khedira, Schürrle, and Klose who broke the all-time World Cup scoring record with his strike. A match come to be known in Brazil as the Mineiraço, “Agony of Mineirão”, it propelled the Germans onward to a final against Argentina and their fourth crown.
DESIGN STORY
The match side features a design inspired by the iconic German kits worn during the 1990 World Cup. The reverse is a variation of a Bavarian diamond pattern decked out in green, Germany’s traditional away strip color.
